This is our new series of basics videos - where we’re going to show you the stuff that you might feel like you should know, but don’t! Please request anything you’d like to see - we’re here to make you happy.
So we kick off our basics video with a simple French dressing. A good dressing is a wonderful thing and can transform a humble lettuce leaf into a work of edible art. Or something. And there are so many different dressings you can make, but French seems a good place to start. Soooo.
Ingredients
6 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (nicer for dressings than normal olive oil)
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar (or red!)
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 garlic clove - we prefer whole, but crush, slice it, whatever
seasalt
fresh black pepper
Put all the above in an empty jam jar. Screw the lid on tight. Shake it, baby. It lasts for a good few weeks in the fridge.
