Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police-Fourth 4th District Patrol Investigation Unit and the Gaithersburg Police Department are investigating three thefts from cellular phone stores that they believe were committed by the same group of suspects. During these thefts, the suspects have stolen cellular phones worth a total of approximately $9,300.
Investigators are releasing video surveillance and photographs of the three suspects and are asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.
In each of these thefts, the suspects entered a wireless communications store during normal business hours. The suspects, posed as customers, looked at the merchandise while turning their backs to store employees to conceal their actions. The suspects pulled the cellular phones from the security cords that hold the items to the display counters and cut them with wire cutters. The suspects then fled with the phones.
