The foreign secretary has said that the central assessment of the UK government was that Kabul was ‘unlikely’ to fall in 2021, in an examination by a cross-party group of MPs. Facing criticism over what has been described as a lackadaisical attitude to the crisis, Raab refused to tell MPs if he went on holiday after Kabul started to fall to the Taliban
