In this lesson, you will learn the English prepositions FOR and DURING.
En esta lección de inglés, Te doy la explicación de cómo usar FOR y DURING.
We use FOR to describe how long something happens. We use it with a period of time to describe a duration.
We use DURING with a noun or noun phrase. It describes when something happens. It has 2 basic definitions or meanings:
1) throughout the period
2) in the course of (in the middle of) an action or event
We often use "during" before an event. Example: His phone rang during the concert.
We do NOT use during to describe the duration of an action. That is a common mistake with ESL students with this preposition of time.
There are some exercises in the form of a quiz at the end of the video to test your understanding. The class has subtitles on the screen.
The accent is a British English accent.
