Extract from James Saunders’s ‘PART OF IT MAY ALSO BE PART OF SOMETHING ELSE’ (2009), played by Philip Thomas (piano, melodica, harmonica and radio), one of 6 compositions on the CD ‘divisions that could be autonomous but that comprise the whole’. The compositions are all part of an ongoing series exploring the nature of delicate and fragile acoustic sounds. Each piece takes as its title a quotation from an experimental artist from the 1960’s.
