The Merchandise Allocation & Planning Tool has been designed by Neha Tankhiwale, Theresa Ko, and Vineet Kumar from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School (MBA Class of 2011) for Prof. Bendoly’s Data Visualization course. The tool aims to optimize merchandise allocations across product categories and stores for different months, by taking into account factors such as historical capacity, financial plan and sales, and dynamic constraints such as last month’s sales and current demand. The tool also presents an intuitive interface for analyzing and simulating the various allocation scenarios using simple yet informative visualization to aid in merchandise planning.
