Michael Tracey is a "journalist," who decided to once again do what he considers "journalism": He made a spectacle of himself, got a lot of attention online because it was so embarrassing, uncovered no information, and will write a Substack piece about "it" which will contain an absolutely monumentally insane number of $5 words within. The aforementioned "it" will not be the red herring that Tracey threw out as his intention — a look at Connecticut College’s policy surrounding Covid-19 mandates and quarantine policy. No, no, no. "It" will be a treatise that ultimately centers around Michael Tracey himself and what this incident tells us about online/writers/journalists/mobs/left wing/right wing/Twitter/YouTube/Millennials/Gen X/Gen Z/social behavior after a pandemic/social behavior, period/Glenn Greenwald/shock element/very clearly made-up element. Any mixture of those things. This thing better pay his bills for a while.
