New COVID 'Mu' variant doesn't appear to spread as rapidly as Delta | The World

While the Delta variant is challenging governments worldwide, a new coronavirus variant has been added to the WHO list.

The Mu variant was first detected in Colombia in January, and has since been found in 40 countries.

Dr Alexander Edwards from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Reading says it doesn’t appear to dominate in the same way as Delta - but its unclear what it might mean for vaccinations.
