Rebecca and I stood there looking at each other,

“Mmm, move back to Golivia? My real parents? What about my parents back home?”

I was still processing the fact that I was a princess and I was about to respond to Rebecca when suddenly another loud boom sounded and everything went black.

I blinked my eyes,

“What just happened? I must have passed out for a few seconds.”

I looked up and was shocked to see my parents standing there.

“Mom! Dad!”

“Get away from Rebecca.”

“Why? What’s wrong?”

“She’s not who you think she is. She is actually someone who is trying to hurt you.”

“No, you’re wrong, she actually just saved me from a bunch of attackers.”

“They weren’t attackers, they were just trying to save you. It was us that hired them to protect you from Rebecca!”

I was so confused and I really didn’t know what to believe.

“But Rebecca has been protecting me, she’s the one who has been looking out for me.”

“It’s all fake, she actually wants to hurt you.”

Even though I was a bit doubtful about what my parents were saying, I decided that I would trust them. After all, they had never lied to me about anything before.

“Get her!”

I watched as my parents’ “hired” attackers all began to throw punches and kicks at Rebecca. One by one she fought them all off and then did a backflip right out of the window and escaped into the night.

“Come on, we need to get you out of here and back home where you will be safe.”

As we drove home my mind started replaying all the events that had just happened.

“Can it really be true that Rebecca actually wants to hurt me?”

As soon as we got home I turned to my parents and demanded an explanation.

“I want to know the truth. Are you my real parents or not?”
