Different studies conclude that almost half of PhD graduates get depressed after their defence. Alireza Rohani shares his personal story, and explores how achieving such a big goal might put our psychological well-being in danger. In his moving, inspiring talk, he explains how we can create a safety net while we go out to achieve our biggest dreams.
Alireza recently obtained his PhD at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente. After achieving this he got into a depression, which he overcame. Currently Alireza fulfills a postdoc position at the University of Twente.
