The Galapagos giant tortoises of California’s San Diego Zoo enjoyed Halloween as they were served the treat of pumpkins, Friday morning. The pumpkins, which were carved in traditional style, were soon gobbled up by the reptiles.

The San Diego Zoo has a long history of offering presents to its animals. Last year, they offered a home-made birthday cake to their Panda Yun Zi which was filled with apple, sweet potato and bamboo. That pales in comparison to the cake the zoo gave their baby jaguars, who were given a cake made from blood and cow’s heart!
