In this video, we’re going to talk about the digestion process.
The digestive system is one of the body’s most important systems.
You have an incredible 33 feet of intestines. At the start is your stomach.
A healthy stomach should be extremely acidic (ph between 1-3), which should release pepsin, a powerful protein enzyme, absorb minerals, and kills microbes. If the stomach is not acidic enough, you can develop acid reflux and indigestion.
You can use acidifiers like apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride to support your stomach and restore a healthy pH balance.
Next, you have the gallbladder, which releases bile. Bile helps break down fat and fat-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E, and K). You can add purified bile salts to support your gallbladder and avoid bloating.
Then, you have the pancreas, which makes enzymes. Enzyme supplements can help promote healthy digestion.
Next up, you have the small intestines. This is where 90 percent of digestion takes place. I recommend taking effective microbes to promote a healthy microbiome.
Then comes the large bowel, which is where most of your microbes live to re-absorb water and minerals.
The enteric nervous system is a part of the digestive system. This controls the pumping motion. There are more nerves in your gut than your spinal cord. There is feedback back to the brain that can affect your mood.
Gut microbes make B-vitamins and live off fiber to make butyrate, which feeds the colon cells. Vegetables are an important part of supporting this process.
85% of your lymphatic system is located in the small intestines, and it is a key part of your natural immunity.
