Seven days into my 3-week fat loss challenge, where I restricted calories to 1,100 per day (using only Undersun Meal Shakes) and limited exercise to 15-minute workouts, I was already seeing some interesting effects.
Was I losing weight? Yes. A significant amount right off the bat, in fact. But not all the weight I was losing was fat. Besides, this experiment was about more than just weight/fat loss. I went into it with a number of assumptions to either confirm or disprove and questions to answer.
All and all, from a psychological perspective, everything was very easy through the first week. I wasn’t tired, I wasn’t grouchy, I wasn’t hungry. My workouts were brief and manageable, but productive.
After the first four days, I was a little concerned about whether I could do weeks of shakes only without hating them in the end. I can buckle down and get a job done no matter what, but I didn’t want to ruin the shakes for myself. Strangely enough, that concern melted away pretty quickly. I actually came to really appreciate the ease, convenience, and consistency in my schedule. Not having to think about it at all – just grab my shake and keep rocking with my day. It certainly gave me one less thing to think about. Ironically, I was getting way fewer calories than normal, but I actually felt better because I wasn’t missing any meals.
Would it stay this easy and feeling so good through Week 2? Find out in the next vlog chronicling my 21-day fat loss journey.
