Camp RUF (Rural-Urban Friendship)
Camp RUF is an educational recreation camp, held in a rural setting, for school-going youth across Bhutan. It is a ten-day civic education program designed to bring together children of rural and urban areas of Bhutan in order to bridge differences and learn from one other with bonding, friendship, and love.
By bringing together rural and urban youth, Camp RUF provides platforms for Bhutanese youth to educate their hearts. Through cultural and experiential learning like sharing the same food, living under the same roof and exchanging indigenous knowledge, youth cultivate the values of Gross National Happiness - empathy, community, and compassion. Camp RUF aspires for national unity and thus promotes His Majesty the King’s vision for youth empowerment
