When the going gets tough then you will need to find that inner strength to keep going and overcome the worries and challenges.
Persistence is the act and ability to continue in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulties and challenges.
Any goal that you are currently working towards will be challenging even if you think that it will be easy.
You might want to get a promotion, Save money for a holiday, lose weight to get in shape or finish the presentation by the weekend.
All of these things will require your time, energy and focus to be achieved, but that is not everything. You will have challenges and additional things to deal with while working towards these goals.
And when your motivation and energy will be running out you will need a persistence to keep yourself going forward.
The reason why most people don’t achieve their goals is simple - They underestimate the time and energy required to achieve their goals.
If you want to develop persistence then here are some of the strategies that you can use to overcome challenges in your life.
First - Expect it to be hard. When you expect things to be easy you will quickly get discouraged when they turn out to be hard, so always set the expectation that you will need to put in some effort.
Second - Allocate more time. It always takes more time that you originally planned for so be sure to allocate more of it in advance.
Third - Be ready to fail. Failure will come and it’s good if you have an idea in your head about how you will deal with it when it comes.
